Camille Robinson-Regis says the UNC must stop obsessing about Darryl Smith and instead tell the public about an incident where a former People's Partnership (PP) government minister sexually harassed a woman who was then allegedly given a house to keep quiet.
The Planning Minister revealed that the PNM is launching a policy on sexual harassment which was drafted by Labour Minister Jennifer Baptiste-Primus.
"Kamla where your policy?" she asked.
Robinson-Regis said there were several instances of sexual harassment during the PP's term which were never dealt with properly by then Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
She asked: "You all remember Dr Glenn Ramadharsingh? As Minister of the People when you wanted to get help from him you had to go down on your knees and swallow more than your pride."
Robinson-Regis said after Dr Ramadharsingh was fired he was later given the job of Siparia Regional Corporation chairman.
" You all remember slapping Sharma?" she asked the crowd.
Robinson-Regis also brought up an alleged incident with former Tobago Development Minister Dr Delmon Baker and another allegation involving former Education Minister Dr Tim Gopeesingh.
"And Kamla wants to tell us how to behave?" she said.
She said it is an indictment on Persad Bissessar that she had not implemented a sexual harassment policy while she was in government. She said that is the difference between the PNM and UNC.
