Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice Er­la Christo­pher has is­sued a state­ment ad­vis­ing that the voice note cir­cu­lat­ing on so­cial me­dia, per­tain­ing to the pro­mo­tion of Po­lice Of­fi­cers in the Sec­ond Di­vi­sion of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice (TTPS) is in­cor­rect.

The Com­mis­sion­er added that while there is a pend­ing mat­ter be­fore the High Court, which con­cerns the is­sue of pro­mo­tion in the TTPS, there have been no dis­cus­sions or agree­ment with re­spect to any of the mat­ters, as prop­a­gat­ed in the said voice note.

Com­mis­sion­er Christo­pher moved to as­sure that of­fi­cers of the TTPS and the pub­lic will be in­formed when a judg­ment is made re­gard­ing the mat­ters be­fore the court.
