The Lost Tribe has copped two vic­to­ries in this year's Port-of-Spain City Cor­po­ra­tion Down­town Car­ni­val Pa­rade of the Bands with their cre­ative Taj. They won both the Most Colour­ful and the Large Band cat­e­gories.

Fol­low­ing the Lost Tribe in sec­ond was Ron­nie and Caro the Mas Band with Let's Go To­ba­go and Show­time Car­ni­val was third with Mo­hawks Mo­hawks.

K2K Al­liance and Part­ners, who por­trayed Through Stained Glass Win­dows, topped the Medi­um Band cat­e­go­ry, fol­lowed by Jus Wee and Friends (Imag­ine) and Ex­ou­sia Mas, who por­trayed Do­min­ion.

Trib­al Con­nec­tion Cul­tur­al won the Small Bands cat­e­go­ry with their por­tray­al of The Great Gath­er­ing while Bel­mont Ex­ot­ic Styl­ish Sailors with Sa­van­nah Nos­tal­gia was sec­ond and Cheyenne Peo­ple's Cheyenne Bus­tle Dances was third.

The re­sults were an­nounced yes­ter­day by Down­town Car­ni­val Com­mit­tee Wen­dell Stephen, who said he was elat­ed that larg­er bands such as Lost Tribe were re­turn­ing to the event. Over the week­end, a to­tal of 165 chil­dren's bands crossed the stage while Car­ni­val Mon­day and Tues­day 98 adult bands crossed, he said.

Mar­tinez thanked Min­is­ter of Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty Stu­art Young, Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice Gary Grif­fith and the city's mu­nic­i­pal po­lice for en­sur­ing the cel­e­bra­tions were safe and with­out any ma­jor in­ci­dents.

The Road March com­pe­ti­tion al­so saw Skin­ny Fab­u­lous, Machel Mon­tano and Bun­ji Gar­lin Famalay ahead of Kees Di­ef­fen­thel­lar's Sa­van­nah Grass and Na­dia Bat­son's So Long.
