Former People's National Movement (PNM) member, Dr. Denise Tsoiatfaff-Angus, says she is "at peace" with her decision to become an independent candidate.
She voted at the Harmons SDA School, Scarborough at 9am today, Monday 25 January 2021, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) election. She reported that voting was smooth and all COVID-19 protocols were in place.
Dr Tsoiafatt-Angus told Guardian Media that she prayed as soon as she got up this morning and will spend the rest of the day visiting some of her constituents.
At the Bon Accord polling station, voter Shirley Cooke was pleased with what she saw.
"I am pleased with what I saw, and the entire process was very smooth," she told Guardian Media.
Voting got off to a smooth start at 6 am this morning at 61 polling stations around Tobago. People began lining up as early as 5:30 am.
Guardian Media visited several polling stations from Crown Point to Charlotteville and there was steady voting.
Voters expressed satisfaction that all COVID-19 protocols were in place. Hand sanitizers were placed at the entrance to many stations. People reported pens and voting stamps were also sanitized.
