A 27-year-old man who was shot in El Socorro on Tuesday night has succumbed to his injuries at hospital.
The victim has been identified as Shalem "Fat Boy" Singh, of 4 King Street, Aranguez.
Police said 14 spent 9mm shells were recovered from the scene.
At about 11.40 pm on Tuesday officers from the North Eastern Division Task Force on mobile patrol were alerted about a shooting in progress at Maraj Street and El Socorro Road. On arrival they found the victim lying face down on the roadway.
Eyewitnesses told the police Singh had been shot multiple times as the gunman had reloaded his weapon and continued shooting him.
Police said when they arrived Singh showed signs of life so they took him to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex. However, he was pronounced dead at 11.55 pm.
Homicide CSI officers retrieved 14 spent 9mm shell casings and four bullets at the scene. Investigations are continuing.
