A former accused in the murder trial of Vindra Naipaul-Coolman was shot dead in a drive-by act in Diego Martin shortly after midday yesterday.
Anthony Dwayne Gloster, also known as Frankie, was killed along Ann Avenue, by occupants of a white Tiida as they drove past him.
He was the father of two.
Gloster was taken to the hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries.
He was a known gang member in La Puerta, Diego Martin.
Five years ago he, his two brothers and five of their neighbours were acquitted of the murder of former Xtra Foods chief executive Vindra Naipaul-Coolman.
In an interview with the T&T Guardian back then, Gloster said “We want justice for her too.”

Gloster had repeatedly denied any wrongdoing by him and his former co-accused.
During the trial, which began in March 2014, prosecutors contended Naipaul-Coolman was held captive at a house in Upper La Puerta, Diego Martin, shared by Gloster and his brothers, before she was killed, dismembered and her body disposed of.
They relied on the evidence of the main witness, Gloster’s cousin, Keon, who claimed to have been present at the time of the murder but did not participate.
However, Keon repeatedly claimed he was coerced by police into implicating the accused men.
