The Police Service is confirming that another four people have been arrested for Breach of Curfew hours, this time in the North-Eastern Division.
According to a police report, a curfew enforcement and stop-and-search exercise was conducted between the hours of 9:30 pm on Wednesday and 3:30 am on Thursday in the San Juan district. The exercise, which was coordinated by Ag/Insp Daniel and supervised by Sgt Hosein and Ag/Sgt MURRAY and Cpl Daniel, included members of the San Juan Police Station and the North-Eastern Division Task Force.
The TTPS notes particular attention was paid to breaches of the Emergency Powers Regulations 2021, during the exercise. A total of four people were arrested: three for breach of curfew, where two were motorists and one was a pedestrian; and one suspected illegal immigrant.
The exercise was said to be incident free.
In a separate road traffic exercise, police officers issued some 18 fixed penalty notices.
During the exercise, which was conducted between the hours of 3 pm and 5:30 pm on Wednesday in the North-Eastern Division, particular attention was paid to breaches of the Public Health Ordinance Regulations.
A total of 18 fixed penalty notices were issued: 11 for breach of traffic sign; six for failing to wear a face mask in public; and one for parking within nine metres of a corner.
The TTPS also is reporting on a mask enforcement and stop-and-search exercise was conducted at Maracas Bay, between the hours of 12:30 pm and 1 pm on Wednesday.
A total of seven stop-and-search forms were completed, as this exercise focussed attention to breaches of the Public Health Ordinance Regulations.
