Four men were denied bail when they appeared virtually at the San Fernando and Princes Town Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with various offences. The men will reappear before the courts on August 8th.
According to police reports on July 26th, police were on mobile patrol when they stopped a white Toyota Aqua vehicle with four occupants. During the stop, police searched the vehicle and allegedly discovered one chrome with black handle Taurus revolver containing four rounds of ammunition in the vehicle. The men were arrested and taken to the Gasparillo Police Station where they were identified as suspects in ongoing investigations.
The four men are Rochard Manoram, 26, of upper Darrius Valley Road, Belmont, Jamel Samuel, 27, of Laventille, Stephe Stewart, 28, of Mc Kai Lane, Upper Belmont Valley Road, Belmont and Aaron Wheeler, 31, of Arima. Following the probe, PC Balkaran charged the four men with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition on August 2nd, 2022.
The matter was heard at the San Fernando Magistrate Court and postponed to August 8th. Meanwhile, Stewart was positively identified in robberies occurring in the Princes Town area between May 25th to June 16th, 2022. He was subsequently charged on August 2nd, 2022, with four counts of robbery with aggravation and seven counts of robbery with violence while co-accused Wheeler was additionally charged with seven counts of robbery with violence and one count of robbery with aggravation.
Stewart and Wheeler are expected to reappear before the Princes Town Magistrates’ Court on August 8th, 2022.
