A 64-year-old grandmother, her common-law-husband, 60, and two of her grandchildren—ages 24 and 20, were arrested by police officers for cocaine trafficking in Aranjuez on Friday.
For the woman, this is the second arrest in 15 years, on drug-related offences.
According to police sources, acting on intelligence received a team of police officers during a special operation swooped down on a house and a parlour owned by the grandmother at #20 Freddy Street where they conducted an extensive search and found an undisclosed amount of cocaine. Police received credible information that the drugs found were for trafficking purposes.
Guardian Media was told that surveillance of the house and parlour activities has been ongoing over the years with several raids being carried out intermittently.
The family of four is currently detained for questioning and is assisting in the investigations.
