A popular fisherman from Guayaguayare has been charged with arson, 3 counts of attempted murder, one count of assault and several gun-related charges.
Selwyn Soodeen 39-year-old of Calmapass Village, Guayaguayare has been charged with three counts of attempted murder, arson, one count of common assault, two counts of possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of ammunition, two counts of possession of a firearm to endanger life and two counts of possession of ammunition to endanger life.
He appeared before Magistrate Nizam Khan in the Mayaro District Court on Friday.
He was not called upon to plead as the matters were lead indictably. He was refused bail and remanded in custody.
Cpl Neaves of Mayaro Police Station laid the charges.
