The T&T Association of Social Workers (TTASW) has launched a hotline geared towards providing psycho-social support for persons during this COVID-19 crisis.
The hotline will offer interested persons free services such as telephone counselling, as well as coping strategies on how to manage stress and anxiety during this crisis.
It also will provide assistance with the completion of online forms/applications for government grants.
The free hotline service—at 465-7932—went in operation on Thursday and is managed and manned by qualified social workers. Its operations are from 8 am to 8 pm, daily.
The TTASW is a registered non-governmental organisation responsible for professional Social Work in T&T.
The organisation, which has been in existence for over three (3) decades, has as its motto, “Empowering social workers to make a difference”.
TTASW's aim is to uphold the values and standards of its profession and to advocate for positive change for citizens and its members.
Its role is to monitor social conditions and to take action that would improve the lives of citizens and its professional members.
