The Parliamentary Joint Select Committee (JSC) on Social Services and Public Administration will be putting the issues of domestic violence and family conflicts on the front burner during its 12th Public Meeting, scheduled for 10:15 am tomorrow, Wednesday 25th May 2022.
Specifically, the JSC will inquire into “the State’s capacity to provide support for victims of Domestic Violence and Family Conflicts (with specific focus on the availability of support mechanisms during the COVID-19 pandemic”, according to an advisory from the Office of the Parliament.
State entities to be scrutinised by the JSC include the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services; the Ministry for Gender and Child Affairs in the Office of the Prime Minister; the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service; and the Children’s Authority of Trinidad and Tobago.
The Office of the Parliament notes this JSC meeting will be broadcast live on the Parliament Channel and Parliament Radio 105.5 FM.
It also will be streamed live on the Parliament’s YouTube Channel, ParlView.
