Veteran journalist Dominic Kalipersad, former editor-in-chief of the Trinidad Guardian, has been honoured by the University of the Southern Caribbean (USC) for his significant impact on journalism.
The USC presented him with an award on November 11 to mark the 50th anniversary of Kalipersad’s journey in journalism.
The award was in recognition of his “sterling and extensive contribution to journalism and to the diverse media landscape in Trinidad and Tobago and beyond. We honour you.”
The USC added, “Your achievement is not just a reflection of your abilities, but also of your unwavering commitment to shaping the media landscape.”
The USC award came on the heels of an Excellence in Media award presented to Kalipersad by the Trinidad and Tobago Publishers and Broadcasters Association at its Dinner and Awards function held on November 5.
