Vet­er­an jour­nal­ist Do­minic Kaliper­sad, for­mer ed­i­tor-in-chief of the Trinidad Guardian, has been ho­n­oured by the Uni­ver­si­ty of the South­ern Caribbean (USC) for his sig­nif­i­cant im­pact on jour­nal­ism.

The USC pre­sent­ed him with an award on No­vem­ber 11 to mark the 50th an­niver­sary of Kaliper­sad’s jour­ney in jour­nal­ism.

The award was in recog­ni­tion of his “ster­ling and ex­ten­sive con­tri­bu­tion to jour­nal­ism and to the di­verse me­dia land­scape in Trinidad and To­ba­go and be­yond. We ho­n­our you.”

The USC added, “Your achieve­ment is not just a re­flec­tion of your abil­i­ties, but al­so of your un­wa­ver­ing com­mit­ment to shap­ing the me­dia land­scape.”

The USC award came on the heels of an Ex­cel­lence in Me­dia award pre­sent­ed to Kaliper­sad by the Trinidad and To­ba­go Pub­lish­ers and Broad­cast­ers As­so­ci­a­tion at its Din­ner and Awards func­tion held on No­vem­ber 5.
