One of three men from central Trinidad, accused of gang-raping a Venezuelan woman, last year, has been granted bail.
Terrence Robinson, Joel Williams, and Joshua Ramlakhan appeared virtually before Magistrate Adrian Darmanie on Monday.
Ramlakhan, of Bank Village, Carapichaima, was granted $150,000 bail, while Williams, of Freeport and Robinson from Carapichaima were denied bail because they were charged while already being on bail for unconnected offences.
The incident is alleged to have occurred in October, last year.
The victim told police that she was standing at Isaac Junction in Couva when she boarded a vehicle, which she believed was a taxi.
The driver and two occupants took her to a savannah in Bank Village, Carapichaima and raped her in a room in the pavilion.
The trio is expected to reappear in court on May 17.
In an unrelated matter, 35-year-old Anil Flemmin was remanded into custody Monday after appearing before a Sangre Grande Magistrate charged with two counts of sexual penetration of a 16-year-old girl.
The Biche resident was unable to secure the $300,000 bail.
And a 19-year-old Cunupia man was ordered to stay 200 feet away from a 16-year-old girl after appearing before a Chaguanas Magistrate yesterday charged with two counts of sexual penetration of a child.
