A shooting in Enterprise, Chaguanas, has left one man dead and two people injured, including a five-year-old girl.
The dead man was identified by police officers as Akeem Alexander, of Nimblette Street.
Alexander, police said, was in the yard of a house located in a street not too far from his home with a 32-year-old friend and the five-year-old girl, when a white Nissan Tiida approached them.
Police said as the vehicle got closer, its occupants opened fire on them. The driver then sped off.
The three were taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility for treatment but Alexander succumbed to his wounds.
The girl, police said, was not severely wounded and she and the other adult were both treated.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident around 9.45 am yesterday, Akeba Hunte, also known as “Slugga 6,” 27, of Upper Dibe Upper, St James, was shot dead by unknown gunmen.
Police officers from the Western Division Task Force found Hunte’s body next to a silver Nissan Almera.
Police are yet to officially determine a motive for the killing but suspect it may be gang-related as Hunte was well-known to the police in relation to gang activities.
