One man has died, and three oth­ers are in­jured, fol­low­ing a shoot­ing at In­de­pen­dence Square, Port-of-Spain on Fri­day night.

The de­ceased was iden­ti­fied as Az­iz Cur­tis White, 52.

The in­jured in­clud­ed a 56-year-old man of Gon­za­les, Bel­mont; a 59-year-old man of Laven­tille Road; and a 53-year-old woman of Moses Av­enue, San Juan.

The four were shot in the vicin­i­ty of Roy­al Cas­tle around 8:30 pm.

The in­ci­dent led to a tem­po­rary halt in ac­tiv­i­ty in that vicin­i­ty, as po­lice closed off the road and cor­doned off the crime scene.

Ven­dors in that area ap­peared shak­en in the im­me­di­ate af­ter­math of the shoot­ing, with some re­mark­ing that nowhere was safe any­more.
