A 20-year-old man from Petit Valley was arrested after police found and seized a firearm and ammunition during a police exercise on Wednesday.
The man reportedly was searched by police, along with three other men, while officers were on patrol along Simeon Road, Petit Valley.
According to a police report, at about 6:05 pm, officers observed four men standing along Simeon Road, Petit Valley, and stopped and searched them.
The 20-year-old suspect of Hummingbird Circular, Simeon Road, Petit Valley, was held with one Polymer 80 (P80) nine-millimetre semi-automatic pistol with an automatic fire selector and magazine containing 19 rounds of nine-millimetre ammunition.
He was arrested by PC Seebaran and taken to the West End Police Station to be formally charged.

The anti-crime exercise, which took place between the hours of 3 pm and 7 pm was spearheaded by Snr Supt Kelvern Thompson, Supt Henry, and ASP Beard. It was coordinated by Insp Grant and Insp Reyes, and Sgt Carmona. It also included Ag Cpl Robinson, PCs Seebaran and Charles, and officers from the Western Division Operations Unit.
