Hundreds of People's National Movement (PNM) supporters have gathered at the Queen's Park Savannah for the party's annual convention.
Supporters started to arrive early this morning and had already filled almost all the seats in the Grand Stand around midday.
Scores of attendees seemed to be taking the opportunity to cast their ballot in the party's executive council before voting closes at 1 pm.
This year's election was held over three days-last Saturday and Sunday and today.
The switch from the traditional one day election was not free from controversy as political leader candidate Karen Nunez-Tesheira, who is challenging Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley for the position, brought legal proceedings seeking to postpone the election.
In their claim, Nunez-Tesheira and two members of her slate claimed that the change could only be approved by the membership during the convention as it requires a change to the party's constitution.
Her injunction application was rejected by a High Court Judge and the Court of Appeal hours before voting began last week.
As with almost all elections, a handful of supporters who spoke to Guardian Media, complained of having difficulties in casting their vote as their names did not appear on the voters' list.
Dozens of election officials and independent observers were seen rendering assistance to such voters.
Besides the minor issue, the voting appeared incident free.
Party members are currently presenting resolutions for proposed changes in the party which require the approval of the membership.
