No motive has been established for the murder of Christopher Fullerton, who was found dead inside his station wagon on Sunday night. However, relatives said while he was a “good boy” he followed "bad company".
According to reports, Ste Madeleine police led by Supt Maharaj was on patrol around 10 pm last night. While driving along the Tarouba Link Road, San Fernando, they saw a silver Nissan Wingroad wagon parked on the roadside in a lonely area.
When the officers checked, they found Fullerton, 20, of New Village, Point Fortin slumped over the steering wheel with a gunshot wound to his head. The lights were on and the engine was still running.
Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Three and the Southern Division Crime Scene Unit responded and found four bullet casings in the wagon. The body was taken to the Forensic Science Centre where an autopsy was expected to be done yesterday.
Police suspect that Fullerton stopped to drop off someone in the area or was stopped by someone who shot him from outside of the car. Residents in the Tarodale Gardens community said they did not hear any gunshots.
Relatives said that Fullerton recently began staying somewhere else over the last few months and did not know what he was doing along the Tarouba Link Road.
