A Tunapuna woman was abducted and rescued within a few hours on Saturday.
According to reports, Kitanna John was forced into a burgundy Nissan B-14 at knife-point by a man known to her around 10 am on Saturday.
According to reports, the man, who is said to be from Maracas, St Joseph, had threatened John in the past.
She was rescued within two hours after the vehicle was intercepted by police in Carenage.
By noon, a relative posted a comment on Facebook thanking the police for rescuing John, whom he said was safe and with her relatives.
Guardian Media understands the vehicle used in the crime was impounded at the Carenage Police Station and several suspects are in police custody.
