A Port of Spain man is expected to be charged with possession of a prohibited weapon; after he was found with black Glock 17 pistol and a magazine containing 14 rounds of nine-millimetre ammunition.

“A man was arrested by police yesterday after being chased up the stairwell of an apartment building in Port of Spain.
The 25-year old suspect from Nelson Street, Port of Spain, was finally caught on the roof of the building and searched.
He was arrested after police found a gun and ammunition in his possession.
Around 6:24 pm, officers were on foot patrol on Duncan Street when they observed a man known to them with an unusual bulge at the right side of his waist.
The man began to run when he saw the officers.
The chase led them up a stairwell of an adjacent building and onto the roof where he was finally caught.
A search of the suspect led to the discovery of a black Glock 17 pistol fitted with a magazine containing 14 rounds of nine-millimetre ammunition.
The man was taken to the Besson Street Police Station where he is expected to be charged for possession of a prohibited weapon.
