President Paula-Mae Weekes was back on the job today, “normal, normal”, after receiving her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine from AstraZeneca.
And she is urging citizens to make every effort the get vaccinated, too, to ensure that everyone is safe from the coronavirus.
A release from the Office of the President says she and her 92-year-old mother Phyllis Weekes had the vaccine administered at the Diego Martin Health Centre, on Tuesday 6th April 2021.
“24 hours later, Her Excellency is happy to report that both she, with her pre-diabetic status and her mother with several co-morbidities, are doing fine and have experienced absolutely no side effects,” the statement said.
Both the President and her mother had received clearance from their doctors before receiving the shot, yesterday.
