A 51-year-old retired soldier was shot and wounded during a shooting incident in Maloney on Monday evening.
According to police, around 6.15 pm the victim was standing at the north-eastern entrance of Building 18 in Maloney when a white Nissan Versa vehicle which was proceeding west along Flamingo Boulevard, suddenly stopped and its occupants opened fire.
The vehicle then sped off.
The victim, a retired soldier, then began feeling a burning sensation to the left leg and then realised that he was shot.
He called out for help and was taken to the Arima Hospital where he was medically examined, treated for the wound and listed in a stable condition.
Investigators visited the scene and recovered 19 live rounds of 9mm ammunition and four 40. Calibre spent shells.
Police have so far not revealed a motive for the attack on the retired soldier.
