A 43-year-old San Fernando man has been charged with the murder of Raffick Mohammed.
Official police reports state that ANCHARD HOSEIN (aka “Rocky”) was charged yesterday, following after advice received from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Ms Joan Honore-Paul.
According to the TTPS statement on the matter, the murder charge stemmed from an incident which occurred on Sunday 19th July 2020.
The victim reportedly went to the home of his girlfriend in Golconda, where he allegedly found the suspect. A physical altercation followed that resulted in the victim allegedly being dealt several blows about his body with a baton.
Police responded to the incident and the victim was conveyed to the San Fernando General Hospital where he was treated and warded in serious condition.
Further enquiries by police led to the arrest of the suspect on Wednesday 22nd July 2020.
However, the victim later succumbed to his injuries on Friday 24th July 2020. The suspect was subsequently cautioned relative to the death on the following day.
