A 21-year-old St Joseph man was shot and killed near his home on Sunday afternoon, in what police suspect was a gang-related attack.
Police said Isaiah Dennis was walking along Centre Trace, La Seiva, St Joseph, around 4 pm, when he was approached by two men he knew.
Residents later reported hearing gunshots and later found Dennis bleeding from the head and buttocks.
Two men were seen running away from the scene.
Officers from the St Joseph CID and the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region Two visited the scene with a District Medical Officer who declared Dennis dead.
Officers of the Special Evidence Recovery Unit found four spent 9 mm shells at the scene.
When Guardian Media visited the scene on Sunday afternoon, emotional relatives could be heard crying. They asked police to view Dennis’ body before it was removed.
Police said Dennis was known to divisional police relating to several matters.
