The South-West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA) is giving assurances that a patient who was seen on the connector chute, linking the San Fernando General Hospital’s Emergency Department to an adjacent hospital building, is now safe.
The images of the patient went viral in social media.
The SWRHA, in an official statement issued a short while ago, affirms that the patient is safely in the care of its healthcare professionals, while his medical profile is being re-evaluated.
The Authority reports that the time of the incident, its security management protocols were appropriately activated to ensure the patient’s safety. It confirms that the incident details are being reviewed to mitigate any reoccurrence.
The SWRHA encourages patients and clients to contact its Customer Service Centre at 87-SWRHA (877-9742), for any matter in relation to the service it provides.
