Three men were killed in separate shootings in east and west Trinidad between Friday night and yesterday morning.
According to reports, the first incident occurred around 9 pm on Friday night at Mason Street in Diego Martin.
Aaron Shui Feng, of Yellow Drive, River Estate, Diego Martin, was driving his Nissan AD wagon along the road when gunmen shot at his vehicle.
Shui Feng was shot several times but the passengers in his vehicle managed to escape unscathed.
Shui Feng was taken to hospital and remained warded until he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday evening.
Shortly after Shui Feng’s shooting, homicide detectives were summoned to the scene of another incident in Aranguez.
Police said that Hassan Mansano, of El Socorro, was walking near to a bar located along Aranguez Main Road when he was shot several times by a gunman.
Mansano attempted to run towards Boundary Road but collapsed along the road and succumbed to his injuries.
As news of Mansano’s death circulated on social media, yesterday, several persons who knew him expressed sadness.
“I know this young man...It’s very sad when your mother dies and as youngsters, you are left to do whatever you want with no supervision...May his soul RIP,” Susan Charles posted.
The third incident occurred shortly before midnight on Saturday night at Windy Hill, Arouca.
Tracey “Ratty” Ottley, the owner of a vegetable and fruit stall in the community, was shot several times and died on the scene.
The three murders along with another in south Trinidad raised the murder toll for the year to 14.
Investigations are continuing.
