The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) is advising that weather conditions today will be rough, with thunderstorms developing in some parts of the country.
Already, parts of the country are experiencing heavy showers, in addition to lightning strikes.
There were reports of heavy showers over North West Trinidad this morning. In addition, showers were reported over Central and parts of South Trinidad, as well as reports of thunderstorm activity. Showers were also seen to the East of Trinidad.
Forecasters warn that gusty winds and street/flash flooding may accompany heavy showers or thunderstorms, today.
According to the latest advisory from the TTMS, low level convergence coupled with heating and southerly winds can trigger thunderstorm development in some areas. This weather is expected to gradually approach Trinidad from the South East.
However, the Met Service says by tonight, conditions will be mostly settled, with showers in a few areas.
