Tobago's first-ever National Panorama final is underway at the Dwight Yorke Stadium parade grounds .
The event, which catered for the medium steel orchestras, saw the Courts Sound Specialists of Laventille sound the first note with Ah Feeling to Rock arranged by Seion Gomez.
The band was among the 10 finalists to compete—seven from Trinidad and three from Tobago.
Noting the importance of the event, Pan Trinbago's president, Tobagonian, Beverly Ramsey-Moore said it was "a proud national Panorama moment and a proud moment for Tobago."
She told Guardian Media the holding the medium and large bands' finals on different days had been tried before but were unsuccessful.
She sold the idea of holding the event in Tobago to Pan Trinbago's executive and they agreed.
"I told them if we brought the medium bands to Tobago, it is now going to become Tobago large band finals."
She said there were "challenges" for the bands coming from Trinidad. "I know that for those bands, there are challenges and they have screamed but they will get used to it," the Katzenjammers managers said.
"This is a tremendous experience. We all should get used to having the medium steel orchestra finals in Tobago, she said.
