Several parts of the country are still without power following stormy weather conditions yesterday and overnight, and the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission has given assurances that work crews are out and seeking to resolve these power outage issues.
In a statement issued this morning, T&TEC reports:
“…as at 6:00 am, we have approximately five areas out across the country. These reports would have come in after our final update at 11:00 pm, last night. The areas are Williamsville, Orange Hill and Studley Park in Tobago, Sangre Chiquito and Mt Dor. Crews are responding to those reports at this time. The area with the most activity overnight was Tobago, with seven area outages.”
T&TEC also notes that its Service Centre operations returned to normal this morning, with opening hours are 8:00 am to 3:45 pm.
“We have deactivated the additional hotlines which were 794-7264 and 794-4823. However, our 24/7 Call Centre remains 800 TTEC (8832) or 800 BULB (2852),” the Commission said.
“The Commission remains on alert as we monitor Adverse Weather advisories from the Meteorological Service,” it added.
