Homicide detectives are investigating two unrelated murders that took place in North Trinidad on Sunday night in the space of just two hours.
In the most recent incident, shortly after 9 pm Derrick Valentine, 33 of Covigne Road, Diego Martin was at his home with his family when two gunmen men stormed into the house.
The men then opened fire, shooting Valentine multiple times about the body before escaping.
Valentine was taken to the St James infirmary where he died while undergoing emergency treatment.
In the earlier incident, at about 7 pm Oba Antoine, 18, of Upper Bournes Road, St James was walking along Dibe Road, St James, when a silver Toyota Yaris pulled up alongside him and stopped.
A man came out of the car with a gun and shot Antoine several times. The gunman then escaped in the vehicle.
Antoine was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
