The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) has received international accreditation from the Joint Board of Moderators for its Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Civil Engineering Systems and National Engineering Technician Diploma (NETD) in Civil Engineering under the Project Management and Civil Infrastructure Systems Unit.
The accreditation visit was conducted by JBM on behalf of the Engineering Council, UK, in October 2022 at UTT’s San Fernando Campus.
The Joint Board of Moderators is comprised of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT), the Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) and the Permanent Way Institution (PWI). The JBM member institutions are licensed by the Engineering Council (EngC), the UK’s regulatory body for the engineering profession, to accredit degree programmes that partially or fully satisfy the academic requirements for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng). In line with EngC policy, JBM accreditation is for a maximum period of five years.
