Parts of Central and South-West Trinidad will be without a pipe-borne water supply today, Tuesday September 21st, as the Water and Sewerage Authority works on two major leaks impacting water delivery to these areas.
An advisory from WASA says a limited truck borne service will be available upon request.
For customers in parts of South-West Trinidad, WASA advises that the interruption in their pipe borne water supply, which began at 7:00 am should end by 8:00 pm.
This is in order to facilitate emergency repairs to two leaks on the 16-inch diameter transmission pipeline located at LP 59 Rochard Road and LP 5 New Colonial, Barrackpore.
Areas affected include:
Cipero Road, Friendship, St John, Borde Narve, Bronte, Petit Morne, Upper Barrackpore, parts of Papourie Road from Tin Pan Alley to New Colonial Road, New Colonial Road, GP Road, Rochard Road from #2 Junction to Rock Road and all side streets, part of Clarke Road up to Old Clarke Road, Teemul Trace, Satnarine Trace, Penal Rock Road Up to Morne Diablo and side streets, upper Rock Road.
For customers in parts of Central Trinidad served by the Freeport Water Treatment Plant, the interruption in their pipe borne water supply began at 8:00 am and should end at about 6:00 pm, today.
Currently, WASA is carrying out repairs to a ruptured 16-inch diameter raw water pipeline, located at the corner of Freeport Mission Road and Freeport Todds Road, Freeport.
Areas affected include:
Preysal, Calcutta #1 & #2, Christian Village, Siewdass Road, Chickland, Mayo, Tortuga, Gordon Village, San Pedro, Gran Couva, Pepper Village and Brasso.
Customers are further advised that it may take up to 48 hours for the scheduled pipe borne water supply to normalize to some areas after repairs are completed.
