Customers in St. James/Cocorite and environs will experience a disruption in their water supply from 7:00 p.m. on June 25th to 12:00 noon on June 26th.
According to a press release from the Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) this is to facilitate repairs to a leaking 21-inch diameter transmission pipeline, along the Western Main Road, Cocorite, in the vicinity of West Shore Medical Private Hospital.
Areas affected include St James, Cocorite and Powder Magazine. The Authority says it may take up to 12 hours for the pipe-borne water supply to normalize to some affected areas following the completion of these repair works.
TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Motorists are advised that during the course of the repair works, traffic along the westbound lane will be diverted onto the eastbound lane from approx. 100m East of the walkover at the Community Hospital. Motorists will proceed West on the eastbound lane to the opening in front of Power Magazine and then back onto the westbound lane.
Motorists who usually use the opening at Powder Magazine, will be required to proceed North to Diego Martin Main Road, up to Four Road intersection and unto their destination. Motorists are further advised to proceed with caution and to obey the traffic signs and instructions of the Traffic Control Officers on duty in the vicinity of the jobsite.
Provisions will be made for access to local traffic within the restricted area.
