Two happy events worth praising, see Guardian September 7, page A10 news, about 16-year-old, Micah James, the youngest person to win the T&T National Photographer of the Year Award.
Micah, who is a Form Five pupil of St Joseph College in St Joseph, also won five other awards for Digital Art, and Photo Journalism announced last Wednesday by The Art Society of T&T.
Micah gives all the praise to his mother, who he said, encouraged him since he was six years old when with her camera, he took his first professional photo.
Congratulations also, go to Muriam Brown, an Alta student, who wrote “Overcoming my fears”. Read Guardian September 5, Page B3 life.
Muriam Brown expresses her fear that people would laugh at her because she could not spell, which made her cry.
Today, she says that “education is like a vehicle to me, it will take you places you never dreamed of”.
Being able to spell and read, will take Muriam, out of poverty, and give her the confidence to overcome her challenges and to succeed.
