Bre­an­na Bel­mar of Mar­lins es­tab­lished a new record in the 13-14 girls 50m breast­stroke when the Na­tion­al Age Group Short Course Swim­ming Cham­pi­onships con­tin­ued at the Na­tion­al Aquat­ic Cen­tre in Bal­main, Cou­va on Sat­ur­day.

The 15-year-old won in 34.26 sec­onds, to low­er the 2018 record of 34.60 which was held by Bri­an­na Bocage, with her twin sis­ter, Rae­gan Bel­mar tak­ing the sil­ver in 36.47, and Blue Dol­phins' Asia-Marie Pouchet, the bronze in 38.93 sec­onds.

Ear­li­er on Sat­ur­day morn­ing, Bre­an­na al­so low­ered the record with a time of 34.24 with Rae­gan, sec­ond in 36.97 and Pouchet, third in 38.74.
