Breanna Belmar of Marlins established a new record in the 13-14 girls 50m breaststroke when the National Age Group Short Course Swimming Championships continued at the National Aquatic Centre in Balmain, Couva on Saturday.
The 15-year-old won in 34.26 seconds, to lower the 2018 record of 34.60 which was held by Brianna Bocage, with her twin sister, Raegan Belmar taking the silver in 36.47, and Blue Dolphins' Asia-Marie Pouchet, the bronze in 38.93 seconds.
Earlier on Saturday morning, Breanna also lowered the record with a time of 34.24 with Raegan, second in 36.97 and Pouchet, third in 38.74.
