The inaugural Chief Secretary Bago T10 Tournament will bowl off on Friday at the Cyd Gray Complex in Roxborough, Tobago from 5 pm.
Interest is keen for the competition which will see four franchise teams battling for $20,000 from Friday until July 31.
The names of the four franchises are Fort King George Gunners, Buccoo Reef Divers, Rainforest Rangers, and Little Tobago Islanders. There will also be an All-Star game before the final. Former Red Force all-rounder Navin Stewart leads the Rain Forest Rangers and says the tournament is all about highlighting the Sister Isle and using cricket as the tool.
"The tournament is set to bowl off tomorrow (Friday) and the Rain Forest Rangers has conducted three practice sessions which is good. The lads are upbeat and ready to go."
Stewart, who also featured at the CPL, says that all is ready in Roxborough.
"I reside in the Eastern side of the Island, three minutes from the Cyd Gray Stadium and upon visiting the grounds it looks spectacular.
"The weather has been really nice so far and we are hoping that it stays like this, so we can highlight the great cricketing talent from Tobago. We are hoping all can come out and support and of course, we have been told that Cricket360 will be streaming the matches for the world to see.
"We want to show that Tobago energy at this tournament and make our beautiful island visible. The top priority is to make sure that there is visibility for Tobago."
