ABU DHABI – West Indies all-rounder Kyle Mayers made valuable contributions with both bat and ball to help Team Abu Dhabi trounce the Chennai Braves Jaguars by eight wickets in the Abu Dhabi T10 League in the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday.
The Barbadian was the pick of the Abu Dhabi bowlers, taking one wicket for 10 runs from his solitary over as the Jaguars posted 103 for five from their 10 overs after being sent in to bat.
Jaguars’ captain Thisara Perera topscored with 45 from 20 balls before he was dismissed by Mayers off the last ball of the innings.
Mayers then returned to score a breezy, unbeaten 14 from seven balls, including three boundaries, to help his side to 106 for two off 9.1 overs.
Together with captain Phil Salt, who cracked an unbeaten 43 from 20 balls, they added an unbroken 27 runs for the third wicket to carry Abu Dhabi to a comfortable victory.
