Aaliyah Paul helped Las Lomas pulled off another huge victory in the Alternative Division of the Courts All Sectors Netball League at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena in Tacarigua on Thursday evening.
The goal-attack netted 23 goals from 30 attempts to lead her team to a 30-9 victory over Police X to seal Las Lomas' second straight win in the 30th edition of the league which opened on the weekend. This performance followed up its grand 57-6 opening win over Jabloteh on Tuesday at the same venue.
Paul also did well feeding her goal-shooter Kyla Jattan, who poured in seven goals from nine tries in a match which their team led from the first pass and held a 7-1 advantage in the first quarter. Las Lomas did not allow Police to add to its score, remaining ahead 15-1 at the half. The leader powered on in the third to stay ahead 22-5 before closing with the 21-goal victory.
Metal Industries Company (MIC) Tigers also sealed its second consecutive win by a huge margin, leading throughout to complete a 40-9 win over Jabloteh. Just as in its opening match versus the University of the West Indies (UWI) where the Tigers dominated with a 51-7 win, they excelled on both ends of the court.
The quarter scores read 10-1, 20-3 and 35-4 respectively all in favour of the Tigers, which had Aaliyah Mulrain (27/51) and Kellie Ann Alexander (13/19) operating in the shooting circle.
For Jabloteh, goal-attack Nicola Solomon netted all of her team's goals hitting nine off 12 attempts.
In the other match, Keonna Noel led all shooters with nine in 14 to see UWI to a 15-8 victory after its massive loss to MIC in the opening round.
Action in the league continues on Saturday with teams in the Premiership and Championship divisions taking centre stage with the first match at 12.30 pm.
