T&T's Nicholas Paul is among nominees for the first-ever PANAM Sports Awards scheduled for December 13 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA.
The local cyclist is one of five nominees in the "Best Male Athlete" category which also includes Anderson Peters of Grenada (Athletics); Mijain Lopez of Cuba (Wrestling); Francisco Barretto of Brazil (Gymnastic) and Ruben Limardo of Venezuela (Fencing).
The selection of more than 40 nominees forms a list of spectacular athletes and coaches, representing the greatest stars from this year and the greatest moments from the Lima 2019 Pan American Games.
Paul is the lone T&T athlete nominated for an award. In August, he highlighted the Games with his outstanding performances winning gold in the Men's Sprint and Men's Team Sprint in Lima, Peru.
