Amir Jangoo recorded his third half-century of the T&T Cricket Board (TTCB) Dream 11 Trinidad T10 Blast Tournament, however, his effort was not good enough to stop his team from being beaten by seven wickets by Fide Ltd Scarlet Ibis Scorchers match at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba on Monday.
Tiger Tanks Cocrico Cavaliers batted first, and Jangoo and his captain Denesha Ramdin walked out to the middle.
Ramdin, who scored 61, the day before, was the first wicket to fall when he was bowled by Mikhil Govia with the first ball of the innings. Jangoo then had partnerships with Jesse Bootan (10), Akiel Cooper (8) before he was the fourth wicket down.
He scored 60 off 29 balls with five fours and four sixes. Adrian Cooper scored 21 to push their team to 103/4 from their allotted 10 overs.
Before yesterday’s 61, Jangoo scored the first half-century of the competition with 58 and followed it up with 60.
In response, openers Kamil Pooran and Hakem Mitchell put on 78 runs for the first wicket in 6.5 overs with Mitchell losing his wicket for 32 runs off 17 balls.
Pooran, who scored just one run on Sunday against Valinis SMKT Leatherback Giants worked his way to his first half-century with an even fifty off 32 balls with seven fours and one six which helped his team to 108/3 in 9.3 overs.
In the first match, it was a low-scoring affair with Socakings Soca Kings scoring just 39 runs off their 10 overs with only Sion Hackett reaching double figures with 15 runs.
In reply, Blue Devils reached 40/4 with Vikesh Mohan scoring 23 runs.

Giants whip Scorchers
Denesh Ramdin struck an unbeaten 61 off just 28 balls to lead the Tiger Tanks Cocrico Cavaliers to an emphatic nine-wicket victory over Scorpion/Titans Blue Devils in their Dream 11 Trinidad T10 Blast match at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba on Sunday.
In the first match, former West Indies wicketkeeper/batsman Denesh Ramdin finally came good to lead Tiger Tanks Cocrico Cavaliers to a nine wickets victory over Scorpions Titans Blue Devils with an unbeaten half-century.
Captain Ramdin scored 61 off 28 balls with seven fours and four sixes to reach 86/1 in 8.1 Overs. Blue Devils made 85/8 after their captain Vikash Mohan won the toss and decided to bat first.
In the day’s second match, Mark Deyal bagged five wickets for five runs off his allotted two overs and then struck an unbeaten 21 off 17 balls with two fours and one six that helped Valini’s Supermart Leatherback Giants to a nine-wicket win over Fides Ltd Scarlet Ibis Scorchers. Deyal ran through the Scorchers line-up with his off-breaks that saw him bag the last four wickets to fall as the leaders posted just 54 runds for nine, off their allotted ten overs. Deyal bowled opener Kamil Pooran with his second delivery of the game with the score on four. The Scorchers continued to struggle, reaching 53 for five off nine overs before Deyal came back into the attack, grabbing four wickets in the final over to take his tournamet tally to eight. Deyal then hit 21 while Jahron Alfred scored 20 not out as the Giants raced to 55 for one off just 6.2 overs to complete their group stage campaign on a high. It was the first loss for the Scorchers, however, they still lead the standings on 17 points.
