T&T's Dwight St Hillaire emerged as the men's 400 metres champion at the Red Raider Open on Friday in Lubbock, Texas in the United States.
At the Texas Tech-Sports Performance Centre, the University of Kentucky senior and Olympian crossed the line first in a time of 46.11 seconds, comfortably ahead of schoolmate Brian Faust (46.66).
Later, St Hillaire partnered with Faust as well as Jacob Smith and Kennedy Lighter, running in that order, to take gold in the timed 4x400m relay final after winning section one of four with 3:06.86 to start the National College Athletic Association (NCAA) season, superbly.
This followed up his success at the Jim Green Track & Field Invitational at Nutter Field house in Lexington, Kentucky, the previous weekend. He picked up double gold in the 200m, winning the half-lap with a 21.02-clocking and his UK relay team raced to success in the 4x400 (3:05.01).

Guy placed second in heat one of five in the preliminaries, clocking 8.09 but placed ninth overall and did not progress to the finale while Saunders suffered the same fate after placing fourth in the final heat with 8.29 to finished 15th overall.
Guy's South Plains schoolmate fellow freshman Camille Lewis competed in two events. She crossed first in section one of four in the women's 600 yards event with 1:26.66 to finish 10th overall and was part of the South Plains 4x400m relay quartet that won the fifth and final section in the timed final and placed 11th overall with a time of 3:54.01.
