In response to this question, 36 per cent of respondents rated Esther Le Gendre as "good" while 43 per cent rated her as a "poor" candidate for the constituency of Tunapuna. Specifically, 16 per cent stated "excellent," 20 per cent "good," 21 per cent "fair" 31 per cent "poor" and 12 per cent "extremely poor." Analysing responses by ethnicity showed that Afro-Trinidadians were 29 per cent more likely to rate Esther Le Gendre as a "good" candidate for the constituency of Tunapuna. Specifically, 50 per cent Afro-Trinidadians, 41 per cent Mixed and 21 per cent Indo-Trinidadians stated "good." Mixed persons were less likely to indicate "fair" as 24 per cent Afro-Trinidadians, 23 per cent Indo-Trinidadians and 16 per cent Mixed persons gave that response. Indo-Trinidadians were 30 per cent more likely than Afro-Trinidadians to rate her as "poor." Examining responses by ethnicity (that is, for each ethnic group assessing their party preference) showed a 51 per cent difference between Indo-Trinidadians and Afro-Trinidadians, stating "UNC Coalition" as their preferred party choice. Specifically, 68 per cent Indo-Trinidadians, 40 per cent Mixed and 17 per cent Afro-Trinidadians said "UNC Coalition." The majority of people stating "PNM" were Afro-Trinidadians.
