T&T all rounder Dwayne Bravo says that this country can go all the way and repeat as regional T20 cricket champions. Speaking to the Trinidad Guardian yesterday following his team's win over Jamaica, Bravo said the players are focussed. "They want to work. With this attitude, there is no stopping us. The guys know what is before them and are doing what they have to ensure success." T&T will come up against Guyana in the first semi-final tonight. If the game is abandoned, T&T will proceed to tomorrow's final by virtue of topping Zone A in the prelims.
Bravo who has been a standout player for T&T in this series has been working hard and is feeling good. "We are seeing this in my performance and I hope to keep on improving." Bravo and his brother, Darren, starred against Jamaica on Wednesday, adding 69 runs off 39 balls, to rescue the home team, after they slipped to 54 for four. Dwayne scored 28 off 19 balls while Darren made 68. He said he was happy for Darren. "We all know that the talent is there and it was great to see him come out, after not playing any of the previous games."
"I know for a fact that he has been working very hard and it came as no surprise when I saw his performance. When I went in he was set and I told him to carry us through to the end and he did that." Looking ahead, the West Indies allrounder said it was not important which team T&T meets in the semi-finals. "If we want to win this tournament we have to beat everyone. It does not matter who we meet, once we remain focus and play to plan, we are going to win this tournament."
