Vice President Joe Biden plans to convene heads of state from Caribbean nations in Washington to discuss energy issues, Associated Press reported.
The first Caribbean Energy Security Summit will be held on Jan. 26.
Biden's office says prime ministers or cabinet ministers from the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Grenada, and T&T are expected to attend.
Biden and political leaders from across the Caribbean met in Port-of-Spain on May 28, 2013to sign a trade agreement and discuss a range of security, investment and energy issues, Fox News reported.
The White House says the summit will focus on promoting sustainable energy in the region, including access to financing.
Representatives from business and international groups are planning to attend.
