Stephen de Gannes has been appointed the Chief Executive Officer of the T&T Chamber of Industry and Commerce
"Mr. de Gannes has expressed his excitement about this new opportunity and moving the T&T Chamber forward, ensuring that we remain relevant and continue to be seen by our members and
potential members as 'The Voice of Business'," a release from the T&T Chamber stated.
"He looks forward to working closely with the T&T Chamber’s membership, the Government, and other stakeholders locally and regionally to increase the ease and efficiency of doing business, to the betterment of the economy of T&T," it stated.
De Gannes graduated from the University of the West Indies as an Electrical Engineer in the field of Electronics and Telecommunications in 1990.
He later furthered his studies at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business where he pursued a Master’s degree in Management of Business Administrations with a focus on Strategic Planning and Entrepreneurship.
"In his career, Mr. de Gannes worked with the then Neal and Massy Group and TSTT in several junior managerial positions. His global business background extends to then working as the country representative for multinational corporation Rockwell Automation, a major US manufacturer of Electrical and Control equipment for Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, and Industrial organizations worldwide, and the local branch of a Houston-based engineering company," it stated.
"With expertise in change management and organizational transformation, he successfully restructured their local divisions," the release stated.
De Gannes' most recent post was at Trinidad Systems Limited (TSL) as Vice President, Subsidiaries, with responsibility for the document management and the outsourced payroll companies where he led business development resulting in increased profitability.
"Mr. de Gannes brings a strong foundation of leadership and strategic insight with keen understanding of transformation during turbulent times which he intends to use for the benefit of the Chamber of Commerce of T&T, its membership, and stakeholders," it stated.
