Two men were ar­rest­ed dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise which was con­duct­ed in Long­denville be­tween 3.30 pm and 6.15 pm Sun­day.

Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, of­fi­cers con­duct­ed sev­er­al search­es in the area which led to the ar­rest of a 31-year-old man of Baldeo Av­enue, Long­denville. The man was ar­rest­ed for be­ing in pos­ses­sion of a firearm and am­mu­ni­tion.

A 20-year-old man of Long­denville Old Road was al­so ar­rest­ed for be­ing in pos­ses­sion of mar­i­jua­na for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing.

The ex­er­cise was co­or­di­nat­ed by Snr Supt Curt Si­mon, ASP Dipc­hand and In­sp Jag­ger­nauth, su­per­vised by Ag Sgt Har­riot and in­clud­ing mem­bers of the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion Task Force Unit A, un­der the su­per­vi­sion of Ag Sgt An­drews and al­so mem­bers of the Ca­nine Unit.
