Two men were arrested during an anti-crime exercise which was conducted in Longdenville between 3.30 pm and 6.15 pm Sunday.
During the exercise, officers conducted several searches in the area which led to the arrest of a 31-year-old man of Baldeo Avenue, Longdenville. The man was arrested for being in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
A 20-year-old man of Longdenville Old Road was also arrested for being in possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Curt Simon, ASP Dipchand and Insp Jaggernauth, supervised by Ag Sgt Harriot and including members of the Central Division Task Force Unit A, under the supervision of Ag Sgt Andrews and also members of the Canine Unit.
