Former General Secretary of the National Union of Government and Federated Workers (NUGFW) Jillian Joy Bartlett-Alleyne has been appointed to serve in the General Services Division of the Industrial Court while Herbert Soverall has been appointment vice president of the court.
The announcement was made by the court’s president Deborah Thomas-Felix during a simple ceremony.
Soverall who is an attorney, has been a member of the Industrial Court for the past 18 years.
Bartlett-Alleyne, is the holder of a Master of Science degree in Government and a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Sector Management with a minor in International Relations from the University of the West Indies.
She also holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Labour Studies from the Cipriani College of Labour and Co-operative
Studies.
Prior to her appointment to the Industrial Court, she served as General Secretary of the National
Union of Government and Federated Workers (NUGFW) from 2011 to 2019.
She also held the position of president of NUGFW Women’s Executive Committee and Executive Committee
Member of the National Trade Union Centre.
She is the Women’s Titular for the Sub Caribbean Region of the Public Services International and a Member of the Caribbean Public Service Association’s Education Committee.
