For­mer Gen­er­al Sec­re­tary of the Na­tion­al Union of Gov­ern­ment and Fed­er­at­ed Work­ers (NUGFW) Jil­lian Joy Bartlett-Al­leyne has been ap­point­ed to serve in the Gen­er­al Ser­vices Di­vi­sion of the In­dus­tri­al Court while Her­bert Sover­all has been ap­point­ment vice pres­i­dent of the court.

The an­nounce­ment was made by the court’s pres­i­dent Deb­o­rah Thomas-Fe­lix dur­ing a sim­ple cer­e­mo­ny.

Sover­all who is an at­tor­ney, has been a mem­ber of the In­dus­tri­al Court for the past 18 years.

Bartlett-Al­leyne, is the hold­er of a Mas­ter of Sci­ence de­gree in Gov­ern­ment and a Bach­e­lor of Sci­ence de­gree in Pub­lic Sec­tor Man­age­ment with a mi­nor in In­ter­na­tion­al Re­la­tions from the Uni­ver­si­ty of the West In­dies.

She al­so holds an As­so­ciate of Arts De­gree in Labour Stud­ies from the Cipri­ani Col­lege of Labour and Co-op­er­a­tive

Stud­ies.

Pri­or to her ap­point­ment to the In­dus­tri­al Court, she served as Gen­er­al Sec­re­tary of the Na­tion­al

Union of Gov­ern­ment and Fed­er­at­ed Work­ers (NUGFW) from 2011 to 2019.

She al­so held the po­si­tion of pres­i­dent of NUGFW Women’s Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee and Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee

Mem­ber of the Na­tion­al Trade Union Cen­tre.

She is the Women’s Tit­u­lar for the Sub Caribbean Re­gion of the Pub­lic Ser­vices In­ter­na­tion­al and a Mem­ber of the Caribbean Pub­lic Ser­vice As­so­ci­a­tion’s Ed­u­ca­tion Com­mit­tee.
