The TTPS is reporting the success of a police exercise in the St Joseph Police District on September 24, which was carried out in response to recent reports of stolen light motor vehicles.
It was carried out from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm, under the supervision of ACP Singh, Snr. Supt Pierre, and Supt Gift; coordinated by ASP Jaggernath and ASP David; and with direct supervision from Sgt Peters, Sgt Thomas, and Sgt (Ag) Joseph Perez. The team also included officers from the St Joseph CID, North Central Division Task Force (NCDTF-W), and the Major Crime Unit (MCU).
A statement from the Police Service says the team focused their surveillance efforts in a bushy area on Agostini Street.
Officers were able to recover two white Nissan AD wagons. Both vehicles were found largely intact and have been transported to the St Joseph Police Station for further processing by Crime Scene Investigators (CSIs).
“The St Joseph CID is currently continuing inquiries into this matter,” the TTPS release said, adding, “the police remain committed to tackling vehicle theft in the region.”
Enquiries are ongoing.
