Some $600,000 worth of prizes are up for grabs at the National Tassarama Grand Finals on August 26.
Defending champions, Charlie Boys Tassa Band, will come up against 16 bands from across T&T.
President and founder of the Tassa Association of T&T (TATT), Dr Vijay Ramlal Rai, said the show is free to the public and will come off at the Mid Centre Mall, Chaguanas.
Ramlal Rai said, “Only the Best Tassa bands are in the finals. This is the first time the finals will take place at Mid Centre Mall which is a large, safe and comfortable area.
“This is also the toughest tassa competition in the world. Tassarama is to Tassa instruments equivalent to what Panorama is for steelpan and the National Tassarama competition is recognised as the official national competition by governments past and present as the main event for the Tassa instruments.”
Showtime is 6 pm.
